Immediately adjacent to the Nkasa Rupara National Park, with no fences between the Lodge and the National Park, Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge has been built using locally sourced materials, as far as possible, to reduce the carbon footprint of the lodge. These materials reflect traditional African building techniques.
The tent meru-styled tents have been built on stilts, allowing its guests the most amazing opportunities to watch animals at close quarters in total safety from the decks, without harming or unduly disturbing the creatures themselves.
The spacious main buildings are stunningly designed to complement their surroundings, blending perfectly into the landscape. The Lodge is solar powered, and all possible measures are taken to minimise disruption of the environment, to prevent pollution and to protect the local flora and fauna.
The 10 eco-friendly meru-styled safari tents are built from steel, canvas and wood, and have been on stilts, elevated above the surrounding landscapes.
9 tents have twin or double beds and 1 is a Family Tent that sleeps two adults and two children.
The entire lodge is 100% off the grid, completely solar powered, and been built in conjunction with the local communities.
Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge is a shining example of true eco-tourism in one of the last wilderness regions in Southern Africa.
It is not unknown for the wildlife from the National Park to move between the tents of the lodge.
