Ongula Homestead Village was established in 2012. It is the first of its kind, a Lodge located among villages in a live homestead in the far northern region of. Apart from accommodation and culinary experiences the village has been transformed into a Rural Transformation Centre integrating tourism with community development and upliftment.

Ongula Homestead Village is designed to provide a seamless blend between the intricate artwork, vibrant colours and rustic charms of traditional Owambo culture and modern comforts.
Accommodation is offered in clay and thatch African huts, boasting 4 Twin Rondawels, with twin beds, en suite bathroom with shower, a tea and coffee station, water coolers and electricity is supplied by mains power.
The Family unit comprises two bedrooms, with a shared bathroom, and a separate entry/hall. One bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the other has 2 twin beds.
All the other facilities are the same.
The Two standard rooms offer comfortable, budget accommodation.

These activities will differ from day to day, depending on what is happening in the homestead on any given day.

Namutoni (approximately 230 km or 180 km): drive on the C38 road east until you reach the B1 tarred road. Turn left on to the B1 towards Ondangwa and follow this road for approx. 160kms. Alternatively drive on the park road from Namutoni, past King Nehale Gate and turn left onto the B1 towards Ondangwa. Follow this road for about 82kms and as you head into Ondangwa, turn right on to the tarred M121/D3622 road, sign posted to Oniipa-Onandjokwe- Oshigambo/Eenhana. Go to [A] below.
Drive on the tarred C46, via Outapi, towards Oshakati and Ondangwa. After Ondangwa the road is renumbered to B1. Continue on the B1 towards Tsumeb, in the town of Ondangwa, turn left on to the tarred M121/D3622 road sign posted to Oniipa-Onandjokwe- Oshigambo/Eenhana. Go to [A] below . . .
[A] After about 29 km, turn left on to the gravel road, sign-posted to Eembahu. Follow the gravel road for 4 km, then keep an eye out on the left-hand side for a sign marked ‘Ongula*’ turn left here and after 300 meters you will arrive at the Lodge on the right-hand side.
* Please IGNORE any signs using the “Ongula” name seen BEFORE you reach the district road D3670 as described above.
